Our tutors are passionate about music and love to share that with all those that come through the door at Solstice Sound, helping students reach where they want to be musically.
Our tutors are enthusiastic, fun, experienced in both playing and performing, and deliver lesson material in a modern, unique way!
Guaranteed to have you working towards a song by the end of your very first lesson!
Our tutors also offer grades (optional), using the Trinity Rock & Pop syllabus.
Alongside regular tuition, we also run live band workshops throughout the year, giving our students something to work towards and an opportunity to perform! Click here to find out more.

Sophie Bastin
OWNER & DRUM TUTOR
Sophie is a fun, lively drummer who loves sharing her passion with students and helping them to achieve their goals.
​
Sophie has 10 years of playing experience and has worked in multiple areas within the music industry.
​
Her journey began as a student at The Alternative Drum School in 2014 before attending The Academy Of Music And Sound, achieving a Triple Distinction in 2018.
​
Sophie then became a Tutor at The Alternative Drum School where she taught in the studio, online and in schools for 3 years.
​
Since then, Sophie has moved onto start up her own private teaching business, leading her to open Solstice Sound in 2021.
​
Throughout her career, Sophie has also been heavily involved in the local music scene and regularly plays gigs and functions, as well as organising events for local musicians, including a regular jam night.
Kaan Hills
GUITAR & BASS GUITAR TUTOR
Kaan is a friendly and calm musician, who has a wealth of experience in performing and playing.
​
Kaan has 19 years of experience and has worked in many areas of the industry, most notably live performance, playing guitar, bass guitar and singing.
He has been performing for 16 years and since then, moved into teaching.
​
His teaching journey began in 2022 at Solstice Sound and is fantastic at working with students to get the best out of their playing.
​
Throughout his career, Kaan has performed in bands, duos and solo all over the world, including on cruises and ferries.
He is also heavily involved in the local music scene and regularly plays gigs and functions, as well as organising events for local musicians, including a regular jam night.
PRICES AND AVAILABILITY
Lesson prices are £16 per 30 min. (£32 p/h)
